Degree completion

Following satisfactory completion of all requirements, the student will be awarded the bachelor of science degree in medical laboratory science from the University of Mississippi and is eligible to apply to take a national certification examination to become certified as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Technologist (MT). Granting of the degree is not contingent upon passing an external certification or licensure exam.
